In its first couple of years, Asha Deep’s entire financial needs were less than two lakh rupees for an entire school year. Now, our expenses average over five lakh rupees each month. Of course, in the beginning we were serving eighteen students. We are now serving about 140 students in grades K-8 as well as an additional 28 students in grades 9-12 and 5 students in post-12th grade education. We’ve also expanded our offering with a school lunch, library, computer lab, and arts classes.
We appreciate the hundreds of donors whose generosity has allowed us to offer quality education to children who otherwise (in most cases) would not have completed Class 8 and almost certainly nothing beyond that.
